The flowers will rise in a friendly formation: in February I sow not in the ground, but on a “snail” with an unexpected spacer

For early sowing of petunias, lobelia and eustoma in February, many people use the “snail” method. But the usual method has a disadvantage – tender sprouts sometimes rot. An improved option solves this problem with a surprise gasket.

Place a layer of regular paper napkin or toilet paper in two layers on a strip of cling film or laminate backing. It is slightly moistened with a spray bottle, and then the flower seeds are carefully laid out, keeping a distance. After this, the structure is rolled up, secured with an elastic band and placed in a transparent container.

The paper layer plays a key role here. It maintains an ideal, but not excessive level of moisture, prevents the tender roots from souring, and when picking, it allows you to easily unroll the roll without damage. The seeds receive uniform moisture and oxygen, which ensures friendly and healthy seedlings even in the most capricious flower crops. This method is especially valuable in February, when there is little natural light and every detail is important for the successful start of seedlings.
