Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced on Monday that a Ukrainian delegation will go to London on Wednesday for new discussions in the United States, the United Kingdom and France on the cessation of the Ukraine.

“Even on Wednesday, our representatives will work in London. Ukraine, United Kingdom, France and the United States – we are ready to advance as constructively as possible,” Zelenski said on the X platform, according to AFP.

The announcement comes in the context of increasing pressures from the US and of European states to find a diplomatic solution that will stop the Russian invasion.

On April 17, in Paris there were a series of diplomatic meetings focused on peace efforts and possible security guarantees for Ukraine. The discussions ended with a work lunch between French President Emmanuel Macron and the emissary of President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff.

The Trump Administration, represented in these negotiations by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, said on Friday that the US could give up mediation efforts if no clear progress signs occur in the coming weeks. Rubio said Washington will evaluate in the next period if an agreement is feasible, stressing that “the United States has other priorities.”

On April 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an armistice on the occasion of the Orthodox Easter. After its expiration, Kiev and eastern Ukraine were again under air alert, and the city of Nikolaev was shaken by explosions. Both camps have accused each other of violating fire cessation, while Ukraine and the US declared themselves in favor of its extension-a proposal rejected by Moscow.

Last month, Ukraine accepted the idea of a 30-day armistice proposed by Trump's team, but the Kremlin claimed that no clear verification mechanisms have been established. Subsequently, the two parties agreed a morals regarding the attacks on the energy infrastructure and maritime targets, but they again accused of violating the agreement.
