Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan declared, on Friday, on Digi24, that for our country the “safe way” is to support international rules in foreign relations, considering “which part of the world we are in and what historical events have taken place over the years in this part of the world”.
Asked if there will be a discussion about the possibility of Romania sending soldiers to Greenland, the prime minister said: “I think that such a working hypothesis is excluded.”
“Regarding the situation in Greenland, it is very good that after the summit in Davos things have calmed down, discussions are taking place to resolve both the issues related to the independence of this territory, but also the existence of a formula by which the United States can strengthen its military bases in that area”, continued Ilie Bolojan.
He expressed his “conviction” that Romania must support “policies that respect international rules” on the global stage.
“I believe, and this is a personal conviction, apart from the position I hold today, that it is important for Romania to support internationally policies related to the observance of international rules, thinking about which part of the world we are in and what historical events have taken place over the years in this part of the world, and I believe that we cannot be any other than a supporter of borders, of international rules, because this is the safe path for Romania,” the prime minister also declared.
