An association for the protection of animals from Alba County reports “one of the worst acts of cruelty” against animals: a dog was beaten with a whip by its owners until it was paralyzed. The images of the puppy, published by the association, went viral and caused a wave of reactions.
The incident happened in Câlnic, in Alba county, and was reported on Facebook by the Help 4 Strays Association, which published images of the puppy.
The representatives of the association for the protection of animals say that a woman brought to their attention the situation of the dog beaten to the point of paralysis even by its owners.
“The chain was tied directly around his neck, he was held and beaten with a whip until he was left paralyzed. He has serious injuries on the spinal cord! It happened in Câlnic, Alba county, in 2026. It is not the first case of a mistreated dog taken over there, but it is the most serious. Beaten to the point of exhaustion, by the owner and by his CHILDREN (…) He is full of wounds all over his body, scars, more recent or older wounds”, they wrote the representatives of the association, quoted by News.ro.
They say that they took the dog to a veterinary clinic, where x-rays were taken and pain relief drugs were administered, and a veterinarian from Cluj specializing in orthopedics recommended an urgent imaging investigation with computer tomography and neurological control.
The representatives of the association requested financial support, presenting the costs of these medical investigations.
“This case is by far one of the biggest examples of cruelty we have come across in the last 10 years,” said those who published the images. The post caused hundreds of reactions.
