Dramatic rescue mission in Italy: Young man stuck in a cave, rescued by dozens of people

An explorer whose foot was trapped under a boulder at a depth of 120 meters was rescued from a cave in northwestern Italy, emergency services announced Monday. The rescue operation involved a total of 53 people, reports Reuters.
The incident took place in the Grotta dei Cinghiali Volanti (Cave of the Flying Boars), one of the main caving areas in Italy, in the province of Cuneo, about 120 kilometers south of Turin.
The rescue operation lasted all night, involving 53 rescuers from different parts of Italy.

The caver received care at an improvised medical point set up inside the cave and was then taken out to be transported to the hospital by ambulance, said the Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service.
According to the Italian media, he is an Italian citizen and is 20 years old.
