An agreement to invest $800 million in the restoration of Ukrainian territories after the war with Russia was planned to be signed between Kiev, Washington and Europe. However, according to the publication’s interlocutors, this is not planned yet.
The reasons are “deep disagreements” between European capitals and the American side over the US desire to control Greenland, as well as Trump’s actions to create a Peace Council with the participation of leaders of authoritarian regimes.
Another factor was that Moscow has not yet officially agreed to the terms of the “peace plan” agreed upon by Ukraine, the United States and Europe. One source claims that the Americans “wanted to wait to hear the opinion first [нелегитимного] Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
Today Putin is scheduled to meet in Moscow with Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the White House head’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, FT notes.
