Tourists were forced to reconsider their plans after the runway at Liverpool John Lennon Airport was closed this morning, British tabloid The Sun writes. The reason: snow.
Airport personnel are currently trying to clear the area of snow and ice.
In a statement, an airport spokesman said: “Due to the winter weather conditions, our runway remains closed and our crews continue to clear snow and ice. Flights are subject to delays and there have been some cancellations. If you are traveling today, please check with your airline for the latest information.”
Dozens of races were canceled by midday Monday.
Two flights from and to Romania
Two flights from and to Romania are scheduled today, both operated by Wizzair, for the evening, with the destinations Bucharest and Iași. On the airport's official page, the four flights (return) appear scheduled on time.
More than 5.5 million travelers arrived at Liverpool airport in 2025.
