“The selection was carried out unanimously. The committee includes government representatives and independent observers – the EU, EBRD, IFC and the business ombudsman,” wrote the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to her, independent members of the supervisory board will be:
- Rumina Velshi is an international expert on nuclear safety and regulatory oversight who has over 40 years of experience in the industry and has chaired the Canadian Nuclear Regulator, the IAEA Safety Standards Commission and the Association of International Nuclear Regulators;
- Laura Garbenciute-Bakiene is a specialist in finance, audit and risk management in energy and infrastructure with more than 25 years of experience, held senior positions at PwC (USA, Ukraine, Lithuania), worked with audit and risks at strategic energy facilities, in particular at the Ignalina NPP;
- Patrick Fragman is an engineer and international manager in the nuclear and power industry with more than 30 years of experience, former President and CEO of Westinghouse Electric Company;
- Brice Bouillon is an energy regulation and corporate governance lawyer who has held senior positions at EDF International and EDF Energy, responsible for legal, compliance and regulatory functions, and worked at the French Conseil d'Etat and the Energy Regulatory Commission.
As Sviridenko noted, the selection of three state representatives to the supervisory board of Energoatom will be completed in the first half of January.
“At the same time, we continue to update the supervisory boards of the entire energy industry – in Naftogaz, Ukrhydroenergo, Ukrenergo, GTS Operator, Centrenergo and other companies. In total, 12 companies are in focus,” the head of the Cabinet emphasized.
Sviridenko also said that state audits of Energoatom and defense enterprises are ongoing.
