He sang for 42 hours and broke the Guinness Record. “I know, I'm crazy”


The 63-year-old resident of the port city of Gloucester, whose mother was a singer, had been singing since he was a child. He had been thinking about breaking the record for the longest time singing for some time, but the longest marathon, lasting 105 hours, was beyond his reach.

So Purchase set out to break the record for uninterrupted singing of Christmas songs, which was 40 hours. The whole event started on December 11 at a local brewery.

After approximately 32 hours the tired daredevil was thinking about giving up. “I started hallucinating, falling asleep standing up,” he admitted. He regained his energy when he saw people gathering at the brewery to witness the record breaking.
Purchase sang, among others: “White Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland”. He also performed Mariah Carey's “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and “Merry Christmas” by Ed Sheeran and Elton John. – Since then, I have stayed away from Christmas songs – admitted the Gloucester resident, who is waiting for official confirmation of his record.
