Greene's criticism of Trump comes at a politically difficult time for Republicans who feel weakened after a devastating election cycle in which The Democrats swept them in every major matchup — partly through a campaign focused on effects of the shutdown and rising prices. Democrats hope that this momentum will last until the so-called half elections [uzupełniających] next year. They hope to regain a majority in the House of Representatives.

The president said that if a trusted Republican runs against Greene — whom he currently views as “far left” — in next year's primary election, will receive his support.

“I can't take calls from an angry lunatic every day. I understand that wonderful conservative people are thinking about the primary against Marjorie in her district in Georgia, that they too are fed up with her and her antics,” he wrote on Truth Social. “If the right person runs, they will have my full and unwavering support.”
