As usual, CSM Oradea reached the second phase of the FIBA Europe Cup, where it was assigned to group L, alongside KK Bosna (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Pallacanestro Reggiana (Italy) and Cedevita Junior (Croatia).

In the first stage, the Romanian vice-champions received the visit of KK Bosna, a team that is coached by Muhamed Pasalic, the former player of CSM Oradea, who was part of the team in 2018 and 2019, when the red-blues took the title.

After the resignation of Aleksandar Damjanovic, Pasalic became the interim coach of KK Bosna and achieved good results, being appreciated for his work. The 38-year-old technician therefore came to Oradea with the idea of defeating his teacher.
