Not only alcohol. More and more Poles are giving up on this

The vast majority of respondents – 77%. — indicated that she significantly reduced her sugar consumption last year, is trying to reduce it or has already done so. Yes, the study “Sugar consumption in Poland”, commissioned by Fritz Kola in November 2025 by SW Research.
When asked about their favorite substitute for sweetened drinks, 68 percent respondents indicated that they replace them with water. Almost half of respondents simply avoid sweetening coffee or tea.
Do Poles limit their sugar consumption?

25 percent respondents stick to juices containing only natural sugars. This answer does not necessarily indicate a reduction in sugar in your diet, as sugar from fruit also counts towards your daily limit. For example, 100 ml of 100% orange juice. contains about 10 grams of sugar, and the daily allowable amount of sugar for an adult is a maximum of 50 grams.
19 percent chooses sugar-free drinks – mainly to reduce calories, but also to consciously reduce daily sugar consumption. More than one third of this group declares that they want to choose healthier products.
Additionally, 40 percent people claim that “zero” drinks taste as good or even better than their classic counterparts. Fritz-kola representatives emphasize that they are investing in the promotion of the “super zero” version of the drink, which has an intense flavor but does not contain sugar.
Who gives up sugar most often
Demographically, most answers: “Yes, I have significantly reduced my sugar consumption” and “I try to limit it sometimes” were given in the 24–35 age group.

Among respondents over 50 years of age, the largest percentage were people who significantly reduced their sugar consumption (27%), and an almost equally large group indicated that their habits had not changed because they had already reduced their sugar intake.
