Erling Haaland scored the winning goal for Manchester City in the “shock” with the leader Arsenal (2-1). His team has moved up to 3 points in the standings and has a game less played.
After making the difference on Sunday, at the “Etihad”, Haaland was also the protagonist in interviews. He stood alongside captain Bernardo Silva in front of the Sky Sports reporter, but chose some pig language and he felt obliged to draw his attention: “Erling, the language!”.
Erling Haaland: “Come on, in life we always swear”
But the Norwegian continued with the “locker room” language, “come on, in life we always swear”, to then compare his teammate with a great former Italian international Fabio Cannavaro: “I remember that cross, when he headed it out of the field, I told him he looked like Fabio Cannavaro. I don't want to get emotional, but Bernie, you were very good as usual“.
Haaland also had a tough day with Arsenal defender Gabriel Maghalaes. Their duel started with the shirt that the Brazilian tore and had to change. He then head-butted him in the face, but the Manchester City striker did not fall theatrically, to cause his elimination.
Erling Haaland: “I was falling if I was really attacked”
Referee Anthony Taylor showed both players a yellow card, and in front of the Sky Sports reporter, the Norwegian explained: “I think if I go down, which I don't unless someone really tackles me, it could be a red card.”
For the warning received, Haaland has no explanation: “I don't know why it was shown to me, it is Gabriel who comes before me. But that's it, now”. The Premier League thus motivated Taylor's decision to show (only) a yellow card to Gabriel: “He wasn't excessively aggressive or violent”.
Manchester City can become the leader in the Premier League on Wednesday!
Erling Haaland and Manchester City can go top of the table on Wednesday if they beat Burnley away at Tarf Moor.
Even a 1-0 win would be enough for the 'Cityzens' considering the higher number of goals scored this season.
