“The enemy launched rocket attacks on the city of Balaklia“, damaging apartment buildings and vehicles, said Oleg Sinegubov on the Telegram social network.
Vitalii Karabanov, the head of the military administration in Balaklia, later lamented the attacks on Telegram, according to Agerpres, citing AFP.
“According to the first information, three people were killed” and at least ten others injured, including several children, in this night attack,
Karabanov stated that the Russian army carried out two rocket attacks on the center of the town. The emergency services intervene on the spot, he also wrote.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia has targeted Ukrainian territory almost daily, using drones and missiles. On Friday, at least six people were killed in the same building in Kiev during a Russian attack.
Moscow has also stepped up its bombing campaign against energy infrastructure in recent weeks as winter approaches. Kiev, for its part, regularly targets oil depots, refineries and other facilities in Russia.
The Russian army continues to advance on the front line, especially in the Zaporozhye (southern) region, which is partially occupied by Moscow. Russia claimed on Sunday the conquest of two more villages.
