“I would like things to go in three directions at the PSD Congress, and after the PSD Congress. I would like us to have a first direction related to the reunification of the party. What does this mean? Here, in Hunedoara, as in Caraş, you are a team. The fact that you are a team led to winning the elections in 2016, and in 2020, and in 2024, will lead to winning the elections and in 2028. When we look at the central level, we realize that the only former PSD president is Marcel Ciolacu, none of the others are PSD members anymore. This is just an example at the macro level. You know that if we don't bring back our people, if we don't bring back all those who contributed well or they tried to do well, we will not succeed in building on the right foundations. I am going to invite the former presidents of the party. Adrian Năstase has confirmed to me that he will come to the Congress.”said the interim leader of the PSD, at the Hunedoara Organization, News writes.
Sorin Grindeanu specified that the second direction is the one related to the party's ideology.
“We are changing the statute and instead of being a progressive party, we are returning to what we traditionally are, a party that respects Christian values, that respects its culture, our Romanian traditions. We have never been progressives. We have not been in this area of political current. We have tried to appear different than we are in reality and people saw this and fined us at the vote. We must become what we have been all along, for 35 years, that party close to the people, that party that knows how to make public policies, let's not try to be something other than what we really are”Grindeanu emphasized.
“We must return to the base of the party, we must return to the people and not just the change of status, we cut progressivism and become that party close to social democracy again, what matters is what we really do with this change of status, and this must be the second direction in which it goesm”, added Grindeanu. The interim leader of the PSD also said that the third direction is that “the party must start working again”.
“In the past years (..) we had a National Council that gave public policies for this country, which was a source of human resources. When the PSD governed, the PSD had trained people, not one, not two, three, four, five, for each ministerial position. We have to start these things again, The National Council must to start working again and the party and from an organizational point of view must become a construction site. This is the third direction we must go. But what should drive us is actually bringing people back together”Grindeanu mentioned.
He showed that, “the fact that they wanted to appear beautiful from the perspective of others, who do not want their good, the fact that they tried to be something other than what I really amled them to lose elections”.
“So I, with the team that we will have at the congress, I want to become again the party that had strength in 35 years, given by one thing. We were with the people, we kept in touch with the people. The strength of the PSD was closely linked with the Romanian people, with the people. And this must become our main engine again”Sorin Grindeanu also said.
