In Krasnoyarsk, the primary waste management infrastructure is being actively modernized, in particular, new waste accumulation sites are being created in the region and additional containers are being installed.

This work is being carried out within the framework of the federal project “Circular Economy” of the national project “Ecological Well-Being”. In total, 450 million rubles will be allocated from the regional budget for these purposes in 2025. These funds will allow municipalities in the region to develop more than 2,000 new waste storage areas and install over 6,800 modern containers.

Municipalities are actively submitting applications for new equipment. The largest number of containers – more than 1,300 units – will be sent to the regional center. It is also planned to build about 100 new sites for the accumulation of MSW.

Significant volumes of new equipment will also be received by the Emelyanovsky Municipal District, which will be equipped with 524 containers and will create 35 sites, and the Rybinsk Municipal District, which will receive more than 300 containers and will create about 100 sites. The remaining infrastructure facilities will be distributed among other municipalities of the region in accordance with their needs.

“Solving the problem of litter in territories requires an integrated approach, including several key areas. Firstly, regional operators comply with sanitary standards and rules regarding timely waste removal. Secondly, ensuring a sufficient number of container sites corresponding to the number of consumers. And, of course, the most important factor is improving the culture of waste management among the population,” commented the Deputy Minister of Ecology of the region Artem Chernykh.
