The court did not oblige the designer to correct defects in the Norilsk perinatal center

The arbitration court rejected the request of the Norilsk Interdistrict Hospital to correct significant deficiencies in the building of the perinatal center, opened in 2018, free of charge.

Several years after the facility was put into operation inem numerous problems were discovered. According to an independent examination, some of the defects, including constant wetting of the foundation and violations in the fire ventilation system, were associated with errors in the original design. The documentation was developed by the Moscow JSC Giprozdrav.

Previously, the court had already ordered the construction company that built the center to eliminate a number of identified shortcomings. However, in the new lawsuit, the hospital insisted that responsibility for the design miscalculations should be borne by their author, the design organization Giprozdrav, as well as the construction customer represented by the regional UKS. On December 8, the court rejected these claims.

The verdict has not yet entered into legal force, and the hospital has the opportunity to appeal it.
