Several civic organizations are participating in a march in Bucharest on Thursday evening, to mark 10 years since the devastating fire in the Collective Club, which resulted in the death of 65 people. Through this march, people demand justice and claim that no one has paid for the tragedy since then.
The participants of the event will gather, starting at 6:00 p.m. in the University Square in the capital, from where they will then march to the site of the former Colectiv club at 7:00 p.m.

10 years after Colectiv, the survivor who lost his sister in the fire claims that “At least we became aware of the country we live in. That was not really true before”
“October 30, 2015, the moment Romania burned collectively. 65 lives were destroyed, 65 people with families, loves, professions, stories. We don't know even now how many could have been saved if we didn't “have everything”. And we can't forget”, the organizers said on the Facebook page of the event.
“On October 30, we're going out into the streets again. The day we give in is the day we die. We'll meet in University Square at 6:00 p.m. and we'll march to the #colectiv at 7:00 p.m.,” the organizers said.
The organizers of the march demand justice and claim that no one has paid for the tragedy since then. They draw attention to the fact that, 10 years later, “corruption still kills in Romania”.
“10 years later, corruption still kills in Romania. Nosocomial infections still make victims – babies die in hospitals. There is still no real chance of treatment and recovery for the badly burned. 10 years after the tragedy at Colectiv, for non-special Romanians it seems that nothing has changed. And no one has paid. No one is paying. Closed cases and annulled sentences are not justice!”, complain the organizers.

Also for today, the victims of the tragedy at Colectiv will be remembered in front of the former club.
The memorial service will be celebrated from 10:30 a.m., in the access area of the Pionerul Factory – Bucur Park in Sector 4, by a council of priests from the state cemeteries, led by Father Gheorghe Dilirici, the Basilica Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate informed on Wednesday.
65 people died after the fire at Club Colectiv on October 30, 2015, when, during a concert by the band Goodbye to Gravity, a fire broke out from several fireworks, which ignited the sponge used for antiphoning. 27 of them died that night. 37 survived the fire but later died in hospital, between a week and four and a half months after the fire.
