Csikszereda promotes the Szeklerland before the game with Sepsi, from the first round of the Romanian Cup, scheduled for Tuesday, at 16:00. Although the FRF has warned on several occasions, the Ciucanians continue to identify with the Szekler region without official administrative status.
Two months ago, at Csikszereda – Craiova University, the players went out on the field accompanied by children wearing T-shirts with the insignia, colors and coat of arms of the land not recognized by the Romanian state authorities. Then, the Romanian Football Federation notified the Disciplinary Commission.
Ciucani were recently fined 30,000 lei for displaying the Szekler flag during the victory against U Cluj (2-1), on October 4. The Gendarmerie was present in the stands and at the match with Petrolul, from the last stage, and again noted the presence of the symbols.

“It would be wonderful for the Szeklerland.” Hallucinatory statements before Csikszereda – Sepsis
The press conference held by Csikszereda was marked by controversial statements. The duel between the two teams funded by the Hungarian Government was described in terms of “friendship” and “pride for the Szeklerland”.
Lorand Paszka (29 years old), Romanian defender with Hungarian citizenship, born in Târgu Secuiesc, had an atypical statement. Until the summer, when he left Ferencvaros for Csikszereda, the player played only in Hungary.
After the match with CFR Cluj (2-2), in which he converted a penalty in the 90th+9th minute, Paszka chose to express himself in the flash-interview in English.
We wish them all the best, apart from this game, because it would be nice to get back to the top flight as soon as possible. It would be wonderful for the Szeklerland to have two first-echelon teams. I hope that both they and we achieve our goals.
– Lorand Paszka, Csikszereda defender
“Everyone is very motivated, but we must not make the mistake of underestimating our opponent. Sepsi has a quality squad and we know that anything can happen in a cup match like this,” added Paszka.

Robert Ilyeș: “It fills me with pride! I'm glad that the match is also broadcast on TV”
On the same note, the coach of the home team also spoke. Nostalgically, Robert Ilyeș remembered that the two clubs last met in an official match in the third echelon in the 2014-2015 season: “Back then, we suffered a heavy defeat at home, with three goals, and a draw away, without goals.”
They are special memories, the meeting of two Szekler teams is a special celebration. It fills me with pride how we receive each other with respect. I'm glad that the match is also televised. I know their style of play, I know their strengths and weaknesses. There can always be surprises in a cup match, but I would like to avoid them. We have to impose our home advantage, the team is in good shape.

Incentives at the limit of regulation
The club from Harghita issued a statement urging visiting fans not to hesitate to purchase access tickets even in the areas dedicated to Csikszereda supporters. Moreover, they will be allowed to wear, in any sector, the insignia of the club, an action usually not allowed by the Gendarmerie.
“We expect a manly, fair duel and a real festive atmosphere. The supporters of our teams have a friendly, even fraternal relationship, and the Lokalpatriotak and Szekely Legio groups have helped each other countless times, both at home and away matches,” the club said.
We encourage our brothers to buy tickets with confidence in any sector of the stadium in Miercurea Ciuc, even over the quota allocated by the regulations. They can support their favorite team in complete peace, even in red and white. Let's be together, let's encourage Szekler football together! Come FK, come Sepsi, come Szeklerland!
