After losing a federal contract worth $11 million. the continued functioning of the organization is in doubt. The Daily Beast website reports that without these funds, the organization can survive at most three months.

Archbishop Miami Thomas Wenski, in an article published in the Miami Herald, expressed surprise at the authorities' decision. The priest predicts that without government support, the center will be able to continue operating for several months.

A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services told The Daily Beast that the decision to end funding is related to a decline in the number of children in the archdiocese's care. Talks about canceling the contract were already taking place in March.
