Fire at a waste recovery company in Prahova. The Environmental Guard announced an inspection

The fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon, October 23, at a non-hazardous waste recycling company in Aricestii Rahtivani commune, Prahova county, is still not extinguished after 16 hours.

According to ISU Prahova, the fire manifests itself on an area of approximately 1000 square meters.
Considering the large smoke emissions, a warning message will be sent in the area through the RO-ALERT system. At this moment, 5 fire engines and 1 SMURD ambulance are operating at the scene, the quoted source reports.
The Prahova Environmental Guard announced an inspection at the company where the fire broke out.
“From the first information on the spot, the fire occurred on the non-hazardous waste storage platform, on an extensive surface, with an open flame and a massive release of characteristic smoke. (…)
The commissioners of the Prahova Environmental Guard requested the support of the Prahova Environmental Protection Agency, which monitors the air quality in the area through the mobile laboratory, analyzing the specific indicators. (…)
The Environmental Guard started an inspection at the operator in question, in order to establish the circumstances of the event and possible violations of environmental legislation“, it is stated in a post on the institution's Facebook page.
