Volodymyr Zelensky met with Donald Tusk. He revealed the background of the conversation

“Together with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, we talked about joint defense projects and the use of the SAFE instrument [Security Action for Europe, pol. Działania na rzecz bezpieczeństwa Europy]” wrote Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday.
The President of Ukraine said that he informed the Polish Prime Minister about Russian air attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector. “Ukrainian airspace needs additional protection. The security of the airspace of all Europe also depends on it,” he stressed.
“We also touched on the issue of military support for Ukraine. Our country is interested in investments by Polish companies in the Ukrainian arms industry. Thank you, Donald Tusk, for the nice conversation,” added the President of Ukraine.

“The meeting between Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is underway,” the Prime Minister's Office reported. The leaders met in Brussels on the sidelines of a summit on the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine.
The Chancellery of the Prime Minister posted a recording of the leaders' welcome on the X social networking site. The video shows the Prime Minister of Poland and the President of Ukraine shaking hands and patting each other on the back.
The EU summit started in Brussels on Thursday morning. One of the topics discussed by state leaders is the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine. A breakthrough in this matter is expected, but the challenge is to convince Belgium to accept this idea.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, present in Brussels, welcomed the new sanctions packages imposed by the US and the EU and called for more pressure on Russia to force it to negotiations.
— The 19th package is very important, but the US sanctions are also very important — and this is a good signal for other countries in the world to join the sanctions, Zelensky told reporters after arriving at the summit.
The summit began on Thursday morning with a meeting of the “27” leaders with President Zelensky. The presence of the Ukrainian leader in Brussels will probably put pressure on the EU heads of state and government to break the EU taboo around reaching for Russian assets. The funds of the Russian central bank, frozen after the Russian attack on Ukraine in 2022, would be used to provide a reparations loan to Kiev. Ukraine would return the borrowed money after the war ended and Russia paid reparations.
