Krasnoyarsk resident is suspected of illegal gold trafficking worth 6.5 million rubles (video)

️A 52-year-old local resident suspected of illegal gold trafficking was detained in Krasnoyarsk. This was reported today by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigative Committee.
According to law enforcement officers, in the period until September 2025, the man entered into a criminal conspiracy with unidentified persons and acquired precious metals in the form of alloys of gold and silver. During a search in his car, investigators found native gold weighing about 750 grams and worth approximately 6.5 million rubles. Several ingots with a total weight of more than one kilogram, jewelry and 22 thousand dollars.
“In addition, searches were carried out in the apartment and in non-residential premises belonging to the man, equipped as a jewelry workshop. The police found ingots with a total weight of more than 1.5 kg, jewelry and more than 30 million rubles. The seized items were sent for research,” said official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (completion of an illegal transaction related to precious metals, their illegal storage, transportation and forwarding in large quantities by a group of persons by prior conspiracy) and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of house arrest. The investigation continues and everyone involved in the illegal mining and sale of natural gold is being identified.
