Mother's Pension is a form of support that appreciates the effort put into raising children, especially in the case of people who, for this reason, could not achieve the minimum length of work.
The benefit is addressed primarily to women who have raised at least four children and are over 60 years of age. Men can also benefit from it if they have taken over the care of children, provided they are over 65 years of age.

If you do not receive a pension or disability pension, you are entitled to supplementary parental benefit in the amount of the lowest pension. From March 2025, the lowest pension is PLN 1,878.91 gross.
If you receive a pension or disability pension in an amount lower than the minimum pension, the supplementary parental benefit will be a supplement to the lowest pension. This means that the amount of the parental supplementary benefit will be equal to the difference between the minimum pension and the amount of the pension or disability pension you receive.
The supplementary parental benefit is subject to annual indexation.
Supplementary Parental Benefit. How to submit an application?
The process of applying for the Maternity Pension requires completing the ERSU (Parental Supplementary Benefit) form and providing additional documents, such as:
— questionnaire regarding the financial and family situation,
— birth certificates of children,
— documentation of the upbringing of at least four children.
The condition of raising at least four children may be met not only for one's own children, but also for the spouse's children, adopted children or children accepted for upbringing within a foster family (except for a professional foster family).
Moreover, to apply for the benefit, you must have Polish citizenship or the citizenship of one of the European Union countries. Foreigners must have legalized stay in Poland. At the time of submitting the application, the person must reside in Poland.
The application can be submitted in person at a ZUS branch, sent by post or using the PUE ZUS platform. The decision to grant the benefit is made by the president of ZUS, and the amount of support depends on the individual financial, life and health situation of the applicant – informs the Social Insurance Institution.
