Fugitive with a European warrant for drug trafficking, caught in Târgovişte after a spectacular pursuit
A 35-year-old man, targeted by a European arrest warrant issued by the judges in Galati for drug trafficking, was caught by the police from Târgoviște after a chase like in the movies, the Dâmbovița County Police Inspectorate announced on Sunday, according to Agerpres.

The police officers from the Road Bureau issued a legal stop signal to a car that was traveling within the radius of the municipality of Târgoviște. The driver did not comply, and the law enforcement officers pursued him. At some point, the man allegedly lost control of the direction of travel, entering a fence with the car. Later, he left the vehicle and tried to flee on foot, but was caught and immobilized by the police.
“Following checks in the databases of the Romanian Police, the police found that the driver, 35 years old, from the municipality of Târgoviște, does not hold a driving license for any category of vehicle. At the same time, a European arrest warrant was issued in his name by the Galati Court for committing the crime of drug trafficking, and he was sentenced to serve a sentence of 4 years and 2 months in prison“, specify the representatives of IPJ Dâmbovița.
A criminal case was filed against the man for driving a vehicle without a driver's license. Currently, he was brought to the Mărgineni Penitentiary for the execution of the European arrest warrant.
