Daniel Bîrligea Set to Join Frosinone After Finalizing Transfer

Daniel Bîrligea, a 26-year-old forward, is moments away from officially joining Frosinone. He is arriving in Italy this morning to sign his contract following a medical examination. FCSB stands to gain €5 million from the transfer.

The transfer is nearly finalized as both clubs reached a final agreement on Tuesday evening after days of negotiations.

Bîrligea will be taken directly from Rome to the club’s facilities in Frosinone once he arrives.

Medical Tests and Contract Signing Await Bîrligea

Upon his arrival at Frosinone’s headquarters, Bîrligea will undergo all necessary medical tests before finalizing a contract that will last for the next three years, according to initial reports.

Currently valued at €4.5 million on Transfermarkt, Bîrligea is expected to earn around €65,000 per month.

Potential Return to FCSB After One Year

On Tuesday night, Gigi Becali stated in a television interview that FCSB will initially receive €1.5 million from the transfer. Frosinone will need to pay the remaining €3.5 million only if they remain in Serie A.

“They are paying one and a half million now. If they stay in Serie A, they will pay an additional 3.5 million. If not, I will receive one and a half million for one year, and then he comes back. I receive one and a half million for the player’s services for a year, and I have extended his contract for another season,” Becali explained.

Bîrligea’s Career at FCSB and CFR Cluj

Bîrligea joined FCSB in September 2024 from CFR Cluj for a fee of €3 million, with an additional €400,000 for agreed contractual clauses.

In his first season, he played in 8 matches and scored 3 goals, accumulating a total of 80 matches with 33 goals and 3 assists while wearing the red and blue jersey.

He has won two Romanian league titles: the first with CFR Cluj in 2022 and the second with FCSB during the 2024-2025 season, contributing significantly to the team’s Europa League run, scoring 3 goals in 9 matches that season.

One memorable moment came during a 2-0 victory against Midtjylland, where he scored in a spectacular fashion after pressuring the goalkeeper, resulting in a goal off of his chest.

Bîrligea arrived in Romania in 2022, joining CFR Cluj for free from Teramo, where he played in 101 matches, netting 29 goals and providing 11 assists.

He has also scored twice in 9 appearances for the Romanian national team and has played for Teramo and Palermo Primavera.

In its Serie A debut, Frosinone lost 0-1 at home against Juventus.
