New shocking information from the investigation shows that the three minors who killed the 15-year-old teenager from Cenai planned the cold-blooded crime for a month and waited for the right moment to act.

The crime in the town of Cena, Timiș county, continues to shock the whole country not only by the brutality of the facts, but especially by the way they were planned in cold blood by three minors.

According to the investigators, the two 15-year-old teenagers planned to kill a schoolmate, Alin Mario Berinde, and a third minor, aged 13, later helped them get rid of the body.

Prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Timiș Court announced that, on January 21, 2026, the detention of the two 15-year-old teenagers was ordered for 24 hours. One is charged with aggravated murder and desecration of corpses, and the second with desecration of corpses. The 13-year-old minor is not criminally liable, having been referred to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection in Timiș.

They planned the murder in cold blood

The investigation shows that the killing was not a spontaneous act, but the result of a plan hatched about a month before. The two teenagers carefully watched the moment to act and waited for the boy's father in the house where the crime was to be committed to go to work abroad, thus remaining unsupervised.

On the chosen evening, Alin Mario Berinde, who was a colleague and friend of those who would become his executioners, was lured out of the house at night, under a seemingly trivial pretext: he was told that he would be taken to see an ATV. Once he arrived at the home of the minor criminal, he was attacked with a hatchet and a knife, being repeatedly hit.

After the crime was committed, the third minor, aged 13, arrived at the crime scene and together they tried to erase the traces of the crime: they stripped the body and set fire to the clothes, also trying to set the body on fire, but they gave up and finally buried it in the yard of the household.

“In fact, it was noted that on 19.01.2026, at around 21:30, the first minor suspect, together with another minor aged 13, having well established a pre-arranged plan that they made a month ago and waiting for the right moment, killed a minor male person by hitting him repeatedly with a hatchet and a knife”, the prosecutors said.

They stated that all three minors acted jointly, desecrating the body by burning and burying it, and the 13-year-old minor actively helped the other two to try to get rid of the lifeless body of the 15-year-old boy who had been their colleague and friend and to erase the traces of the crime.

According to the mayor of Cenai commune, the murdered boy, Alin Mario Berinde, was recently raised only by his mother, the father being in prison, and the other minors came from families with known problems in the community.

“In the case of the victim, the mother works, the father is imprisoned for several problems. And the others… the parents did not take care of them. The family in whose yard the boy was buried has old problems. It is known that there was drug use”, declared the mayor.
