Boryszew has officially launched its production line for the Hornet drones, successfully creating 15 fully operational units. The total investment for this program amounts to several million złotys.
The CEO revealed that the localization of components in the Hornet drones has reached 60-70%, with the remaining parts sourced primarily from other European Union countries. Testing of the new drones will be conducted by the Polish military, specifically at the Autonomous Systems Center and the Military Aviation Technical Institute (ITWL). Only after testing will the decision on potential orders and modifications be made.
Following the announcement of production, the company has received its first inquiries from abroad. Interest in the Polish drones has come not only from potential users but also from companies developing anti-drone systems. Export sales, however, require approval from the Ministry of National Defence. Boryszew is optimistic about securing orders and views both domestic and international markets as highly promising.
Boryszew’s Drone Production Incorporates Diverse Industry Expertise
In the drone manufacturing process, Boryszew leverages the experience of its staff from the automotive and chemical sectors. In one of its production halls, alongside drone assembly, styrofoam packaging is also being produced, with plans to use this technology for lighter drone models. Efforts are underway to optimize production and implement new solutions, such as the use of styrofoam elements, to expedite and reduce costs.
The company expresses readiness for further development and scaling of production, contingent on order sizes. While the domestic market remains a top priority, Boryszew does not intend to limit its ambitions solely to the Polish army and is contemplating future projects, including ammunition production utilizing its metalworking expertise.
