Gas Prices Drop Ahead of Putin’s Visit to Krasnoyarsk

On Monday, the average price of gasoline in Krasnoyarsk decreased by 20 to 25 rubles (approximately $0.20 to $0.30) compared to the previous week. Additionally, gas stations lifted restrictions on the amount of fuel each customer could purchase.

According to local media reports, 92 and 98 octane gasoline were urgently delivered from Omsk, while 95 octane fuel was sourced from Achinsk. The company Krasnoyarsknefteprodukt attributed the drop in prices to temporary improvements in logistics and an influx of additional fuel directly from the Achinsk refinery. They cautioned that supplies are limited, and prices may change again once this stock is depleted.

Igor Grinyov, a former deputy of the Krasnoyarsk city council, reported that an employee at one of the gas stations informed him about the expedited fuel supply prior to Putin’s arrival.

Putin visited Krasnoyarsk on Monday to attend the final of the All-Russian school competition “Big Break,” which runs from July 29 to August 4. He also held a meeting with the region’s governor, Mikhail Kotyukov.

During a previous visit to Irkutsk, residents also noted a sudden drop in gasoline prices at local stations.
