Two Car Explosions in Odesa Leave One Dead, Investigations Underway

Two Car Explosions in Odesa

Authorities in Odesa reported a second car explosion that occurred on the evening of the incident. The explosion took place on Nebesna Sotnia Avenue, close to the intersection with Yaroslava Mudroho Avenue.

Preliminary reports suggest the explosion happened while the vehicle was in motion. According to sources, the Security Service of Ukraine is conducting an investigation into the incident, with speculation on social media regarding a possible terrorist act.

The explosion resulted in the death of a veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who had been retired for over 12 years. Sources stated that he had no connections to the armed forces or defense structures of Ukraine and had recently been engaged in private transportation.

A similar explosion occurred earlier in the city that morning, where a vehicle detonated shortly after the driver started the engine. Fortunately, the driver survived. Media reports indicated that the vehicle belonged to a military personnel, but it was unclear if he was inside at the time of the explosion.

The first explosion has been classified as a terrorist act by the Security Service of Ukraine, while legal classification for the second incident is still pending as investigations continue to determine the circumstances.
