Classic Margherita Pizza Dominates Polish Orders with 26% Share

A recent study by PanParagon has found that the classic Margherita pizza remains the most popular choice among Polish consumers, accounting for 26.1% of all pizza orders. This statistic highlights the enduring appeal of this traditional dish, even as the dining landscape in Poland grows increasingly diverse.

The analysis, examining consumer behavior in 2026, revealed that the Margherita was followed by the pepperoni piavola at 16.7% and the farmers’ pizza at 11.1%. Together, these three varieties comprised more than half of all analyzed pizza orders, showcasing their significant market presence.

The study also included top ten rankings that featured options with kebab meat and the long-debated Hawaiian pizza with ham and pineapple.

Additionally, the research analyzed sauce preferences among pizza buyers, revealing that garlic sauce was the most popular choice, appearing in 68.8% of orders including sauces. Tomato sauce followed at 22.4%, with olive oil taking the third spot at 8.7%. This highlights a clear trend, as consumers often opt for garlic sauce when purchasing it separately.

How Many Kebabs Can Polish Consumers Afford?

In a separate study by Pyszne.pl, experts examined the average number of kebabs that a typical Polish consumer can afford based on their income. They found that despite a nearly doubling average kebab price since 2018, those earning the minimum wage can now purchase more kebabs than in previous years. In 2018, the net minimum wage allowed for the purchase of around 98 kebabs per month, while by 2025, this number had increased to approximately 113.

For average wage earners, the situation has varied. The net average wage in 2018 allowed for the purchase of 208 kebabs, peaking at 218 in 2021. However, last year’s average net wage enabled the purchase of only about 205 kebabs, indicating that wage growth has not fully kept pace with rising kebab prices. The influence of escalating costs in the food service industry—spanning ingredients, energy, labor, packaging, and operational expenses—has contributed to this trend.

In 2025, the average price of a kebab was reported at 31.19 PLN, with projections indicating it would rise to 32.87 PLN by May 2026. Pyszne.pl also shared rankings of the favored kebab types ordered by Polish consumers, revealing further insights into local culinary preferences.
