Wrocław may have the tallest building in the EU. The project is getting closer to implementation
On a plot of 2.5 ha, located at ul. Fabryczna, Giant Development Group plans to build four private student residences and the tallest skyscraper in the European Union. The skyscraper currently operates under the working name Giant Tower.
The new skyscraper, like the Sky Tower in Wrocław, is to function as a multi-purpose facility, and its total usable area will be 175,000 m2. square meters
The initial plans, obtained by “Gazeta Wrocławska”, provided for the construction of three skyscrapers as part of this project.

However, the latest visualizations show that ultimately only one skyscraper will be built. Giant Development explained in an interview with the daily that the lowest of the planned skyscrapers turned out to be too high for the plot located in a conservation area. After carrying out the analysis, the conservator of monuments allowed buildings with a height not exceeding 24 m.

The plot on which the construction of the central tower was originally planned, which was supposed to be 235 m high, will be used for the construction of student residence halls. The tallest of the planned skyscrapers will remain on the third plot and its height will be 272 m.
This means that the new building would exceed the Sky Tower in Wrocław by 60 m. Moreover, the planned investment would have a chance to become the tallest building in the European Union, overtaking the Varso Tower in Warsaw. However, it is worth emphasizing that the total height of Varso Tower is approximately 310 m, but the roof level is approximately 230 mand the remaining 80 m is a technical spire.
The developer's representative told Gazeta Wrocławska that a permit to start construction may be obtained within six to eight months. The cost of implementing this project, according to the company's estimates, currently exceeds PLN 3 billion.
