Each of us will be the head of AI employees. Change comparable to the arrival of the Internet

What is the idea of the Frontier Firms organization? Microsoft describes three stages of reaching this model. In the first AI he plays the role of a personal assistant who helps to perform known tasks faster. The second stage is a “digital collaborator” – the agent undertakes selected duties, releasing human time. The finale is an organization in which people set goals, and teams of agents conduct whole business processes themselves, consulting the guardian only if necessary.
Currently as much as 80 percent employees and managers in the world complain about a lack of time and energy, while 53 percent Leaders expect a further increase in productivity. At the same time, 82 percent respondents bosses believe that this is Digital labor – AI agents – will allow them to fill the growing gap. Intelligence ceases to be limited by the number of full -time jobs – it becomes a scalable resource like electricity or cloud computing. At least a lot of companies, including Microsoft, count on this.

A new role of man: head of AI agents
In the world of “Frontier”, every employee becomes a manager of an intelligent team. Instead of writing e-mails or building tables in Excel, we will design, instruct and improve agents, responsible for their performance. Already 41 percent Leaders predicts that in five years agents management will be the daily duty of their teams, and 28 percent. He considers full -time jobs “AI Workforce Manager”, i.e. a person responsible for managing a team of AI agents.
Importantly, the “Frontier” organizations do not reduce staff at all costs – 71 percent. Their employees say that the company is flourishing, and 90 percent He performs more significant work than before the implementation of agents.
It should be emphasized, however, that The transformation will not be limited to routine automation. The report shows that 45 percent decision -makers declare that within a year and a half he wants to expand the capacity of teams thanks to agents, especially in the areas of customer service, marketing and product development. Parallel 47 percent focuses on raising employees' competences, and 78 percent (in organizations already referred to as “Frontier Companies” as much as 95 percent) He plans to recruit AI specialists: trainers, investment analysts, or industry strategies.
Unfortunately, there are also plans to be dismissed. One -third of bosses considers the reduction of full -time jobs, but the demand for talents in the field of agent's design and management is growing rapidly. Companies referred to as Ai-native They increase employment almost twice as faster than traditional big techs.

Consequences for employers and employees
Companies must develop a new record, referred to by the authors of the report as Human-agent ratio. Too few agents mean wasting potential, too much – communication paralysis. The Harvard study cited in the report shows that a single specialist from AI defeats the team without AI, but the team of people supported by technology is best.
That is why Microsoft proposes a departure from static organizational structures in favor of more flexible, where Bands – human and algorithms – form around specific goals like a film crew gathering during the project implementation.
And what does all this mean for employees? Entering the role of heads of AI agents can speed up career development. Employees from the first day learn to delegate, toil and control agent teams instead of spending time on repetitive tasks. It is them – equipped with the ability to promise, assess risk and create multi -stage work – will be the most sought after on the market. Paradoxically, only 21 percent people in “Frontier Firms” are afraid that AI will take away their work, compared to 38 percent. respondents globally.

Agents are an inevitable change
Agent technology matures at a pace reminiscent of a race for mobile internet a decade ago. Already today 46 percent Leaders automate the entire processes with agents, and 24 percent implemented AI on an organizational scale.
Microsoft warns, however, that Copilot's “gluing” for old procedures is not enough. You need to re -design work, separating the creativity and judgment of a man from the mechanical production of knowledge, which will be taken over by the digital labor.
“Frontier Companies” show that a real advantage is not the number of agents, but the quality of relationships between people and artificial intelligence. Organizations that already invest in training, new roles and agent infrastructure are reporting better financial results and greater agility. For the rest of the market it is a warning: in an era dominated by artificial intelligence, the lack of adequate strategy means the risk of lag behind – both in terms of competitiveness and attractiveness for talents. The companies that the report is talking about are not a futuristic curiosity. This A growing class of enterprises defining the rules of the upcoming decade. It is worth treating it seriously.
