Assad Al-Hamlawi Expresses Desire for Top European League After Craiova

Assad Al-Hamlawi, a 25-year-old forward and last season’s top scorer for Universitatea Craiova, has shared his aspirations for his future career following a successful season where he netted 16 goals.
Despite rumors linking him to a move to Al Ahly in Egypt, Al-Hamlawi clarified that he is only interested in transferring to a top-tier league in Europe, specifically mentioning Spain, Italy, or France.
Desire to Compete with Elite Players
Upon concluding his season, Al-Hamlawi stated, “Honestly, I haven’t thought that far ahead. I’m not sure. Any top league, Italy, France, or Spain would be great for me as long as I can play and enjoy football.”
Prior to his time at Universitatea Craiova, the Palestinian international played in Poland for Slask Wroclaw and has also had stints in Sweden with several clubs including Oddevold and Helsingborg.
Aiming for Personal Goals in the Next Season
Having finished as his team’s top scorer, Al-Hamlawi is determined to replicate or surpass his previous achievements, targeting at least 16 goals in the upcoming season. “I would like to score at least 16 goals again, but my goal is to exceed that number,” he stated.
Out of his 16 goals last season, 11 were scored in the league, while five came during the Conference League qualifiers.
