Trump posted the post a day after meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The conversation took place in the face of threats of a potential US exit from the Alliance. Rutte said on Wednesday after the meeting that Trump was clearly disappointed with his allies. The Secretary General did not answer questions about whether the US president was talking about leaving NATO.

After the meeting, Trump posted another tweet in which he again attacked allies. He accused them of not helping America in the war with Iran and will not help it in the next crisis.
“REMEMBER GREENLAND, THAT BIG, POOR-MANAGED PIECE OF ICE!!!” – Trump added, referring to NATO's opposition to the transfer of Greenland to the US.
According to Reuters reports, Trump allegedly told Rutte that he expected specific commitments from allies in the next few days to secure the Strait of Hormuz.
