Russia Accuses Ukraine of Drone Attack on Belarusian Tourist Bus

Russian media reports indicate that Ukrainian forces injured two individuals on Thursday when a drone allegedly attacked a bus transporting tourists from Minsk to Anapa, a Russian resort on the Black Sea. In response, Kyiv dismissed the accusations as “provocations,” asserting that the incident may involve a false flag operation, according to Reuters.
Authorities in Bryansk, a Russian region bordering Ukraine, informed the news agency Sputnik Belarus that the two drivers sustained minor injuries in the attack near the Kraniy Kamen border crossing between Russia and Belarus.
Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), refuted the claims of a Ukrainian attack on the bus, labeling the Russian allegations as provocations and also accusing Russia of conducting a false flag operation.
The Bryansk and Kursk regions along the Russian-Ukrainian border have been regularly targeted by Ukrainian bombardments.
Last month, in a separate incident in Bryansk, Russia alleged that Ukraine carried out a deadly drone attack on a bus carrying Belarusian students. The Ukrainian military also rejected those accusations.
“Night of Terror” in Kyiv
Since the start of the war initiated by the Kremlin in February 2022, Russia has consistently attacked Ukrainian cities. Kyiv experienced a “night of terror,” as described by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, during which Moscow’s forces launched hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles at the Ukrainian capital.
On the other hand, in recent months, Ukrainian forces have intensified their drone strikes against Russia, aiming to weaken the Russian economy and push for an end to the conflict.
