The deposit system in Poland officially launched in early October last year. Lidl began utilizing its machines in April 2025 and has now provided insights into the volume of bottles returned by customers.

Lidl reports that the highest number of plastic deposit bottles returned was 73,750 at its store located at 36 Kościuszki Street in Wieliczka. Additionally, the store in Gdynia at 110B Chylońska Street saw the most metal cans, with a total of 38,612 returned.
The highest recorded voucher value from a return at a bottle machine reached 685.50 PLN. In contrast, a top performer at Biedronka reportedly redeemed a voucher worth 483.50 PLN after returning 967 cans and bottles, as detailed in “Fakt”.
