Most companies in Russia take young people for internships

15 June 19:20

Two out of three Russian companies accept young specialists for internships. This was reported by the SuperJob research center.

According to the study, 30% of employers have existing internship programs. Another 36% of companies do not have a separate program, but still accept interns. More than half of employers invite most of the participants to work after the internship. Over the year, the share of such companies has increased slightly. Another one in four organizations makes offers only to the strongest trainees.

Young people themselves also often stay in companies after internship. Seven out of ten interns got a job in the exact place where they completed their internship. This is the maximum figure for the entire observation period of researchers. Another 11% of young people received a job offer but turned it down. Only 7% said that they were not offered a job after the internship.

At the same time, young people increasingly perceive internships not just as a way to get into a specific company, but as an opportunity to gain practical skills. 71% of survey participants answered this way. Researchers note that for employers, internships are becoming one of the ways to close the personnel gap, and for young specialists a direct path to their first work experience.

The surveys involved 1,000 employers and 1,000 young people under 27 years of age who already had internship experience.
