Experts analyzed the work of oncology services in Lesosibirsk, Yeniseisk and Kazachinsky. The regional Ministry of Health spoke about this.

In the northern regions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, significant progress has been made in the early diagnosis of cancer. According to the regional cancer clinic, thanks to the introduction of low-dose computed tomography in Lesosibirsk, about half of lung cancer cases are now detected at the first or second stage. This is one and a half times higher than the Russian average.

Doctors also noted improvements in other hospitals. In Yeniseisk, the quantity and quality of key studies, including endoscopies with biopsies, have increased. In the Kazachinsky district hospital, a special autofluorescent stomatoscope began to be used to combat the high incidence of oral cancer.

“This proves the importance of risk-based screening,” said Ruslan Zukov, chief physician of the regional oncology clinic.

In addition, in Lesosibirsk they plan to launch a “School of Care” for cancer patients and their relatives, following the example of the Krasnoyarsk dispensary, in order to make home care more accessible to residents of remote areas.
