Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed his refusal to withdraw troops from Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip. According to him, the army will be stationed there “without any time limits to protect the border and Israeli towns against jihadism.”

He stressed that “safety zones” would be “cleared of the local population” and all “terrorist infrastructure”, including houses in villages on the fighting line, “will be destroyed.” Katz added that he had conveyed Tel Aviv's position on the matter to US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset. He also threatened Iran with an attack if Tehran attacked Israel over the fighting in Lebanon.

Israeli Minister of Internal Security Itamar Ben-Gewir, in turn, stated that Trump's agreement with Iran does not limit Israeli actions. “Israel is not subject to the United States, we are an independent and sovereign state! (…) We are not partners in this agreement, which does not care about our security and does not bind us in any way,” Ben-Gewir emphasized. He emphasized that Tel Aviv can only agree to the complete destruction of Hezbollah.

According to the Lebanese news agency NNA, on June 15, the Israeli army launched an attack on the towns of Kfar Tebnit and Nabatieh al-Fawqa using artillery.

The day before, on June 14, Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced that the United States and Iran had reached a peace agreement. At the same time, according to Sharif, the sides agreed on “an immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.” The official signing ceremony of the document is scheduled to take place on June 19 in Switzerland.
