The merger between UniCredit Bank and Alpha Bank is approaching the end. What do customers need to know

The process of integration between UniCredit Bank Romania and Alpha Bank Romania is planned to end, subject to receiving all the necessary legal approvals, on August 15, 2025. It is followed that, after this date, all clients Alpha Bank Romania will become UniCredit Romania customers.

During the following months, until the completion of the fusion process is completed, the two banks continue to have a separate activity, a release of UniCredit shows.

Starting with May 28, 2025, Alpha Bank Romania customers will receive, by e-mail or by mail, personalized information from UniCredit Bank Romania and Alpha Bank Romania, comprising details on UniCredit products and services, as well as the following stages of Alpha Bank Romania in UniCredit Bank Romania.

As of today, May 28, and throughout June, Alpha Bank Romania customers will be in possession of the new Debit and Credit Mastercard cards, issued by UniCredit and they will be able to use after the merger, starting on August 15, 2025.

Between August 15 and 17, 2025, activities related to the operational transfer of the products and services owned by the clients at Alpha Romania to UniCredit Bank Romania will be carried out, and the teams of the two banks will make every effort to ensure the availability of new services as soon as possible.

Starting with August 18, 2025, Alpha Bank Romania customers will have complete access to UniCredit products and services.

The merger represents the integration of two complementary banks, both with long -term relationships and expertise on the Romanian market.
