“We are determined to eliminate the scourge of too large bags that delay boarding and are clearly unfair to over 99 percent of our passengers who follow our luggage rules,” said airlines in a statement that BBC cites.
The method of counteracting oversized hand luggage is quite controversial. Few passengers know that the Irish carrier is already paying an additional bonus of 1.5 euros (about six zlotys) for every traveler caught, which brings oversized hand luggage on board.

Now Mike O'Leary wants to strengthen employees' motivation to catch such disobedient travelers. In the Rte Morning Ireland program, Michael O'Leary admitted that Ryanair “is thinking about increasing [bonusu]”to stop passengers from bringing oversized luggage on board. Currently, according to the head of the airlines, only a promil of travelers pays a fee for too much luggage.
“Our message to these 0.1 percent of passengers is simple: Please follow our generous luggage rules, otherwise you will be charged with a fee at the check -in or at the goal” – said the airline in a statement that the BBC cites.

As O'Leary said, the company willingly motivates its employees, while sharing the hitch with them. He also added that he thinks that these fees will decrease in the next year or two.
Passengers of the Ryanair line can be charged with an amount of up to 75 euros (318 PLN) for having a luggage greater than the one they paid for when booking. The head of the Irish carrier pointed out that the line is already struggling with a huge scale of excessive luggage on board aircraft.
