A terrible accident took place during the evening of Friday, November 21, around 22:30, in Bucharest, on Calea Giulești, where a 25-year-old Nepalese citizen lost his life after being hit by a car.
The man was returning home by tram and got off at a station without shelter. Witnesses say that he tried to cross behind the tram when he was surprised by a car driven by an 18-year-old man, coming from the direction of Drumul Săbăreni – Bulevardul Constructorilor.
The impact was violent: the windshield of the car was completely destroyed, and the front part of the car was strongly deformed. Two SMURD crews quickly arrived at the scene, but the doctors could not do anything for the victim, who was already dead.
According to the information sent by the Bucharest Road Bureau, the young driver was tested both with the alcohol test machine and with the DrugTest, the results being negative.
Law enforcement officers demarcated the area, took measurements and began investigations to establish exactly how the accident occurred and the circumstances in which the pedestrian engaged in the crossing.
