Does USR feel betrayed by Nicușor Dan? Ștefan Pălărie: “No one in the party knew his plan”

USR Senator Ștefan Pălărie stated that the decision of President Nicușor Dan regarding the recent nomination of Adrian-Ioan Veștea as Prime Minister took the leadership and members of the party by surprise. Hat dismissed the idea that this was known or prepared ahead of time within the formation.
Asked if USR members feel betrayed by the head of state, Pălărie stated that the dominant reaction was one of surprise and misunderstanding.
“The predominant feeling was one of surprise and misunderstanding at the first stage. Then, listening once more, twice or three times, to both the speech and the announcement made on social networks by Mr. Nicușor Dan, I personally was no longer so surprised.” stated the USR senator, in an interview granted to Adevărul.
He confirmed that USR president Dominic Fritz was also taken by surprise by the president's decision. “Absolutely. It seems that detail was somehow left out,” said the Hat.
The senator emphasized that, according to his information, no one from USR was informed in advance about Nicușor Dan's intention. The USR leader also rejected the speculations that the party's representatives would have feigned surprise following the announcement made by the head of state.
