The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) criticized US President Donald Trump for announcing the signing of the US-Iran agreement on June 14, the day of the 80th anniversary of the head of the White House. Sky News and CNN wrote about this with reference to a statement by the IRGC.
According to media reports, the IRGC called such statements from the US “a test for Iran’s negotiating team.”
According to corps representatives, the American president showed “unusual persistence” when he announced such an intention, because Iranian negotiators “clearly” stated that “the memorandum has not yet been finalized” and that “the signing on Sunday will definitely not take place.” The IRGC suggested that Trump intended to dedicate the signing to his anniversary. They believe that this was supposed to be a “personal PR stunt” for the president.
CNN emphasized that this is further evidence of discrepancies in the statements of the United States and Iran amid diplomatic efforts in recent days.
The post, which caused a flurry of emotions from the IRGC, was published by Trump in Truth Social on June 13. In it, he wrote that Iran, in fact, “no longer wants nuclear weapons and will not have them, either through purchase, development, or any other form of acquisition.”
“The agreement is scheduled to be signed tomorrow, and immediately upon signing, the Strait of Hormuz will be open to everyone. We look forward to working with Iran and the entire Middle East in the future. We hope this process will be quick, easy and smooth. If not, we have a better alternative that will hopefully never be used again!” – Trump wrote.
On the morning of his birthday, Trump published a post on Truth Social with a picture generated by artificial intelligence, in which he wrote: “You are being discombobulated.” He did not indicate to whom exactly this appeal was addressed. Previously, the head of the White House called the “Discombobulator” a new secret weapon, thanks to which the Americans managed to capture the then President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores. Trump noted that the “Discombobulator” temporarily disabled Venezuelan defense systems, causing missile equipment to not work, but it cannot be discussed.
