Because of “such a situation” in the country. Flights of recreational helicopters have been banned in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg (the aggressor country of the Russian Federation) and surrounding areas, restrictions have been introduced on the use of airspace for private and recreational small aircraft, including helicopters. The Telegram channel “Caution, News” reported this on June 12.

According to sources, one-day VIP helicopter tours from St. Petersburg are now forced to fly around urban areas. Preliminarily, the restrictions are in effect until June 15, but they may be extended until at least June 18.

One of the local flying clubs reported that they are currently not conducting flights over the city for private helicopters and small aircraft. According to employees, the ban is due to “the current situation in the country.” Which one exactly was not explained in the publication.

However, they noted that against the backdrop of increasing drone attacks, including during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, only departmental aircraft are allowed to be in the airspace.
