Agreement between the US and Iran. The Prime Minister of Pakistan indicated a possible date


“We are closer to a peace agreement than ever. It will probably be finalized within the next 24 hours. Pakistan is preparing to sign the agreement electronically immediately afterwards, followed by technical talks next week,” Shehbaz Sharif wrote on X on Friday.

The Pakistani Prime Minister thanked the US and Iran for their commitment to the negotiations and also expressed his appreciation to friends in the region for their support. “We are confident that this historic peace agreement will provide a strong foundation for lasting peace“- he emphasized.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif wrote that the final text of the agreement has been agreed and Pakistan is working in close cooperation with both sides to finalize the next steps.

US-Iran agreement. There is a voice from Tehran

Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Esmail Baghei denied that the agreement with the US, i.e. the so-called memorandum from Islamabad was to be held on Sunday, Reuters reported, citing state media.

— The signing of a memorandum in the coming days cannot be ruled out, but caution should be exercised regarding any statements regarding the date of signing, said Esmail Baghei, pointing to “the other side's hesitations.”

Iran-US agreement. There are details

A high-ranking representative of the US administration announced on Friday that the text of the preliminary agreement had been agreed. He noted that Iran will receive economic benefits as the provisions of the agreements are implemented, including those regarding the dismantling of the nuclear program and the export of enriched uranium.

According to a representative of the US administration, the agreement is based on four pillars: opening the Strait of Hormuz and ending its blockade, dismantling the Iranian nuclear program along with the transfer of enriched material to the American side, which is to be “destroyed on site and then exported from the country”, long-term regional peace and inspection regime ensuring verification of commitments.

In return, Iran is to receive gradual easing of sanctions and reintegration into the world economy. The representative of the White House categorically denied reports that specific amounts of $12, $6 or $1 billion were paid to Tehran when the memorandum was signed. (approx. PLN 44, 22 or 3.67 billion, respectively).

Among the changes that have brought the agreement closer in recent weeks, the representative of the American administration mentioned Iran's weakening control over the Strait of Hormuz, through which more oil has flowed in recent weeks than in the initial phase of the conflict, and clarifying the provisions regarding the destruction and export of enriched uranium
