Russia announces the interception of over 100 Ukrainian drones in Moscow and in very distant regions

The Russian air defense has intercepted or destroyed over 100 drones launched by Ukraine during the night, in several regions of the country, including a wheel of drones that were heading to the Capital, the Russian authorities announced on Wednesday morning.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that between 21:00 and 24:00 (Moscow time), air defense systems broke 112 drones, according to Reuters. Most were intercepted above the Briansk region, located on the border with Ukraine, where 59 drones were identified. Other incidents have been reported in at least five different regions.
The Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, announced that 27 drones were rejected near the Russian capital. He did not report victims or significant damage, only stating that the intervention teams collect the fragments of the fallen drones.
In the Briansk region, the local governor informed that, although no victims were registered, a home and six vehicles were damaged. In the Smolensk region, near the border with Poland, 11 drones were shot down without reporting victims.
These incidents took place just a few days after a series of similar attacks launched by Ukraine on Moscow and other Russian cities. Both sides intensifies the use of drones in the conflict.
In turn, Ukraine has been the target of massive attacks from Russia in recent days. According to Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, over 900 Russian drones were launched on Ukrainian cities within three days, ended Monday morning. This air dam, one of the largest since the beginning of the Russian large -scale invasion in 2022, hit several cities, causing the death of at least 12 people – including three children in the Jîtomîr region, west of Kiev.
