The truck driver was not imprisoned for killing a schoolgirl in Dudinka

In Dudinka, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the court found the truck driver guilty in violation of traffic rules, resulting inabout negligence in the death of a 15-year-old girl.

The accident happened during the day On February 14 this year at the intersection of st. Polar and Northern Bypass. The schoolgirl was crossing the road, and at that moment 46 year old Shacman car driver with a trailer leaving a secondary street. He turned right without yielding to the pedestrian, drove into the oncoming lane and the girl ended up under the wheels.

The schoolgirl received serious injuries from which she died on the spot.

In the course of clarifying the circumstances of the accident, it was established that the driver was driving without a technical inspection and a tachograph, did not take into account the advantage of the main road at the intersection, did not reduce speed and did not notice the schoolgirl in advance, although the conditions made it possible to do this – she was walking wearing a bright jacket with reflectors, and the weather was clear and visibility was good.

“A special on-site experiment confirmed: from the cabin the pedestrian was visible from afar, it was possible to stop. The driver repented, but only partially admitted his guilt – he explained that he was simply driving the car at the request of a friend. He was silent in court and did not make excuses,” the prosecutor’s office said.

According to Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, he faced a maximum of 5 years in prison. The court sentenced the man to 2 years of forced labor with a deduction of 10% in state income and deprivation of the right to drive transport for 2 years. As compensation for moral damage and expenses incurred, the driver gave the parents of the deceased 200 thousand rubles, and the owner of the truck paid the girl’s mother a million rubles and must pay another 746 thousand rubles to her father.
