In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a convict tried to bribe a colony employee for 200 thousand rubles

In Boguchany maximum security colony No. 42, a convict tried to bribe the head of a detachment of the department for educational work, reported the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The prisoner offered 200 thousand rubles for the removal from his personal file of materials of disciplinary sanctions for violating internal regulations. So he wanted to buy himself a positive reference to replace the unserved part of the sentence with a more lenient one. The officer refused the money and reported this to his superiors.

“The employee of IK-42, who prevented the commission of a corruption-related crime, was thanked on behalf of the leadership of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service and documents for a bonus were prepared,” the prison department said.

A criminal case was opened against the convict under Part 4 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Giving a large bribe to an official for committing obviously illegal actions”), the maximum sanction of which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years with a fine of up to sixty times the amount of the bribe.
